Trip Reports

Todd Bird Club Blue Spruce Park Outing Report:

Although there are many other counterexamples from the past, today, the members of the Todd Bird Club showed that they are smart enough even to get in out of the rain - all except one! The scheduled leader for the outing at Blue Spruce Park did officially conduct the outing as it lightly rained - but from his car with the window rolled down for half an hour in the BSP parking lot. To avoid the expected wrath otherwise from Margaret Higbee, he dutifully recorded the outing and its nine species in eBird. The welcomed highlight of the outing was a Northern Flicker that flew to the trunk of a tree in the parking lot. The leader is hopeful that Margaret will not be too harsh on him for not continuing the outing until noontime by himself under the conditions thought to be too adverse by the other members.
