Tuesday Morning Outings at Yellow Creek will continue, weather permitting, until deer season. Meet at 8:00 at the park office located on Rt. 259 just off Rt. 422 east of Indiana. Trip Report

On Tuesday, October 25, 2011, the Todd Bird Club had the usual bird walk at Yellow Creek State Park. The morning started out cold with fog, but as soon as the fog lifted, it quickly became pleasant.

The park office was not very productive and we quickly moved on to the maintenance area. Here most of the birds were on the water with American Coots, Pied-billed Grebes, Mallards, and Double-crested Cormorants. Next stop was the bend where we added Rusty Blackbird, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Common Loon, White-crowned Sparrow, Blue-winged Teal, Wilsonï¿½s Snipe, and Sharp-shinned Hawk. The day use area yielded Brown Creeper, Winter Wren, Golden-crowned Kinglet, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Belted Kingfisher, Pine Warbler, and Field Sparrow. Our final stop was the waterfowl blind where we found Common Raven, Dark-eyed Junco, and a lone Gadwall. Altogether we had 46 species for the morning.
