Description
Meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Old 422 Launch by Region 2 Office (Prospect Exit off 422). Come out and enjoy a spring day of birding, led by Mike Shaffer (Environmental Education Specialist, Bureau of State Parks) in a joint effort with the Todd Bird Club and Bartramian Audubon Society members. We will be in search of early season migrants such as sparrows, warblers, tanagers, thrushes, kinglets, gulls, terns, loons, grebes, cormorants and waterfowl. The hike is relatively easy on a paved road that takes us through an array of habitats. Interested birders from all skill levels from beginners to experts are welcome. Bring binoculars if you have them. If not, we will have binoculars on hand for you to use. So, just bring your enthusiasm, water, snacks and sharp eyes and ears.
Directions: Take US 422 west and get off at the Prospect Exit. Make a right onto PA 528 and then an immediate left onto Park Road. You will pass the Waterfowl Observation Platform on your left and continue to the large parking area at the end next to the boat launch. Enter the address, 199 Park Rd, Prospect, PA 16052, into your navigation system.
